1 out of 5 stars WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH   January 8, 2009
AGAIN I RUSHED OUT LIKE A IDIOT TO BUY THIS BOOK AND YES AGAIN IT WAS RUBBISH. MAYBE NOW SHE IS FAMOUS MARTINA COLE THINKS SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO TRY I WONT BE RUSHING OUT AGAIN THINK I WILL FIND SOME OTHER WRITER TO SPEND MY MONEY ON.The Business

1 out of 5 stars very disappointing...   January 6, 2009
I am about a third the way through this book and am struggling to finish it.
The characters feelings are constantly repeated and the story line is quite poor. I find I am actually skipping paragraphs on most pages...

After reading "Faces" and then this... I don't think I will be picking up Martina's work again in the near future.

1 out of 5 stars So glad it's not just me...   January 5, 2009
I've just finally managed to finish reading this book and was so frustrated with myself for wasting so much time on what was nothing more that a torturous mental exercise in perseverance. 505 pages too long, the plot could have been written on the back of a postage stamp, there was no dialogue or interaction, or action come to that. The characters make no sense the repetition was unbearable...I'm not going to waste any more time on this drivel, but I urge you not to either. One of the worst books I've ever read. Do not buy it if you want to remain sane. I will never buy another Martina Cole book.

1 out of 5 stars The business   January 2, 2009
Utter garbage, so reptitive, did she get paid per page? Why use one paragraph , when you can write the same thing in three para's. I am struggling to finish the book , but will ( frustratingly) persist , just so I can see if anything actually happens. Agree with previous reviewers, characters are completely unbelievable.
This is the first book I am looking to ever sell on Ebay , just so I can get some money back and not feel so ripped off by buying this piece of garbage.

1 out of 5 stars The Business   January 1, 2009
Very very disappointing. Does she feel that as most of her books in the past that made her a household name give her a free ride to sales of future books? No it doesn't! I found this very repetitive and boring. I read the book in one day, skimming over the repetitive descriptions of her characters. This book could have been half the size and still boring. This was what one called many years ago a "penny dreadful". I used to look forward to her new releases but not any more. I suggest she goes back to the beginning and doesn't insult our intelligence again.
