Fairly impressive insight into a political phenomenon September 4, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As my initial port-of-call when researching for a dissertation on Perot's candidacy, I found this text informative, including some insightful data and critical thinking. Jelen has edited the book so as to compile chapters which cover a wide range of issues relating to Perot, and to third party candidates in general. My only criticism is that the same points are often repeated through the book; which, while undoubtedly important in order to reiterate certain important facts, does not quite reach a satisfactorily firm conclusion. All the same, it is a good source on the candidate as something of a political phenomenon and as a partially successful challenger to the seemingly ever-lasting two-party system.
