| Customer Reviews: A bit outdated compared to the latest in software technology May 12, 2010 Book Myths (Netherlands) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book on a recommendation from one of my teachers from a Business Strategy course, but i have to say the book is a bit outdated when compared to the latest charting tools that are available with Office 2007 and other similar softwares and freewares. Though the concepts in the book on how to best present numeric data in form of charts is quite well thought off, the real gain is in doing the workbook exercises. As a whole the book is a good read and has quite nice exercises, but this book doesnt justify the money value. The CD provided with the book is pretty worthless as they are just scanned images of the book itself with hardly any re-usable value in making real charts.
This book definetly needs to be updated with the latest in software technology, and surely a better CD can be made.
A very good toolkit April 15, 2010 JPM (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sincerely a very good tool kit... the basics explained are refreshing.....At the same time; If you don't want to purchase the book: and if you are using MS Office Excel 2007 (and aren't ashamed of clicking F1; a bit of googling when in need) you may substantially extract the benefits of creating excellent charts without using such books...This book was written when Office Excel was unfriendly.
