There are good and bad things about this book. I like the fact that it is a manageable size, gives you a somewhat high-level overview of Word 2003's capabilities, and is very interactive with its multiple exercises in each chapter.
However, it is in these exercises where problems lay. Before completing the exercises, you must download the Microsoft Press work files from the accompanying CD. That's easy. However, when it comes to the exercises themselves, I experienced instances where the exercise instructions did not marry with the content of the files I was working with. This makes for a frustrating experience. For example, the exercise on page 251 of chapter 11 tells you to execute a series of steps that are impossible based on the files (or possibly missing files) that the CD provides you with.
To be fair, these problems only occured on a small percentage of the exercises. None the less, it shouldn't happen at all. Overall, the book is good and I would recommend it. However, be prepared to be unable to complete a handful of the exercises.

Not enough info to provide product support or training. I need a 1000 page product manual. Running Word 97 is so much better, where is the 2003 replacement?
