Excellent for all levels February 24, 2004 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am a self taught VBA programmer and as such I needed a book that would take me that much further, as well as allowing me to brush up on any basics I may have missed. This book does that in volumes. The VBA Primer at the beginning of the book is good enough to get anyone started in VBA right from the beginning, and as the book goes on it goes into more difficult tasks with plenty of sample code. The reference is concise and useful, and it makes a perfect desktop companion. In fact, the only gripe I have about it is it would have been nice to have a CD supplied with it with all the sample code on. Oh well, can't have everything! Definately worth the money.
Excellent resource for programming VBA January 24, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is an excellent book if you need something that will help you do fairly specific things in Excel VBA. I've found it well organised and very useful. It is beyond the more basic VBA books, and covers things like add-ins, events, etc. Probably not so useful if you've not used VBA a bit, but if you're going to be writing anything serious in VBA its well worth getting.
The advanced excel user's guide to truly mastering excel February 15, 2002 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
This book is excellent for learning the basics about Excel programming all the way through to an expert user. Many books claim to teach the advanced parts of Excel but I have been dissapointed in that they do not go all the way as promised. I am an advanced user of Excel and needed a book that would go beyond pivot tables, basic VBA and macros. This book takes you to furthest and most advanced parts of Excel in a very easy to understand format to develop applications that are truly powerful. I have automated manual processes through this book that has led to several man-days worth of savings in time. Whenever I have wanted a book that will help me master an application, I have turned to Wrox and they have never let me down! I would recommend this book as a day to day reference for beginners in VBA/Macro programming to advanced users who really need to tap into the potential of Excel.
Concise, easy to follow & understand reference guide to VBA January 30, 2002 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
This is the most concise Excel VBA guide I have read so for. Absolutely everything is covered in it. It's really easy follow and use. Don't be put off by the title of Excel 2002. It covers the last three versions and makes specific references to any details that may not be relevant to older versions. If you're a beginner,it introduces you very quickly to writing code. So you may be better getting a more basic guide, but for users that are familiar already with VBA to those who would consider themselves 'guru's', it's a must.
