Great introduction to VBA June 16, 2010 Mr. T. Beattie (Stratford, UK) I have been using this book a lot recently and it has given me a very good understanding of the fundamentals of this subject and many useful examples. There are not masses of detailed examples but the ones that are given get you set on the right path, and the explinations are very clear.
I would definately recommend the book to novice users of Excel VBA or infact any MS Office users if you want some time saving (slightly geeky) tips.
Excel VBA Programming for Dummies May 16, 2010 Mr. John G. Harper This is an excellent book for beginners and explains concepts clearly and gives lots of examples. Very easy to follow.
Usual Dummie's approach February 21, 2010 angled engineer (Oxon., UK) As with all Dummie's guides, this one makes a fair job of explaining how to use VBA for Excel. As such it's perfectly good enough for any adventurous Excel user to make some ad-hoc forays into the "dark side" of VBA.
Be warned, however, VBA as a programming language has lots of difficulties for the beginner just to learn how to employ the syntax. As such this book can only be regarded as a basic primer as it does not offer an in-depth advice in how to use the language for best effect. In particular it only ever seems to come up with one or two examples of program code for each topic and often refers the reader to the help sections of VBA itself.
Excellent book December 13, 2009 John Tattersall (Germany) I needed an introduction into VBA programming and Excel macros and this book was a good choice. I can recommend it to anyone who has little knowledge and needs a simple method to getting into VBA.
Excellent book in easy to follow language December 12, 2009 G. Davis (UK) It certainly has taught a dummy in an easy to understand way!
I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn VBA. It gives an excellent foundation to build on.
