| Customer Reviews:
5 years and still going strong August 11, 2008 This is my fifth year of owning and using this mouse. It still works very well. It has seen heavy use over the years, so I consider it to have been very reliable. It has had a few minor problems:
- In the second or third year, I had to dismantle the mouse and use a craft knife to cut down the sides of the scroll wheel, because it became stiff and difficult to rotate while clicking. Making it narrower solved the problem.
- The slippery pads underneath are starting to think about coming off.
- The USB lead is too short if the USB port is at the back of your notebook on the opposite side to your mouse hand. For the first four years, I put up with this by ensuring the cable ran from the USB port, underneath the laptop, to the mouse. If it's on the same side, though, it's ideal.
- I don't know if it's the mouse or the software (it's probably the mouse) but sometimes when scrolling in one direction for a while, the page will suddenly scroll the other way for a split-second before continuing in the proper direction. I'm fairly certain it's always done this.
These are only minor faults, in my opinion, and the mouse has surely fulfilled its 25-worth of service (for that was what I paid). It tracks well on a good range of suitably interesting textured surfaces (obviously, nothing too smooth or shiny)and its basic functions still work as they should.
Good baby mouse February 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A very small mouse that fits within a small hand comfortably and works well. An "ordinary" mouse feels positively huge in comparison.
