 Overpriced December 26, 2008
As with many Apple items you pay premium for a non-premium item. Since release it has been plagued with problems and although this seem to be ironed out now the testing was done on current user.
Not worth the money when free alternatives are available.

First off I want to clear up some confusion with MobileMe, The other reviews who give one star are just ridiculous...Yeah when MobileMe first came out (July 2008) it had a few problems, it wasn't best thought out by Apple but now in November 2008 it's services are completely 100% running with no faults! The services work fast and the 20gb of online storage (the iDisk) is great...no longer do i use my USB pen drive i simply go on any computer (PC or Mac) and connect straight onto my iDisk and Viola my files are all there! Also with the 20gb ou can upload all your Photos, Movies and Music straight from the iLife 08 suite....which comes free on all Macs...It's a FANTASTIC way to share all your content online with all your friends and family! Not only all this but you get an e-mail address (example@me.com) which i must admit is very good for filtering out spam! and ives you 5 alias's which is great for business's etc.
If you own an iPod Touch or an iPhone then this service is a must! If you have multiple macs or even pc's then you can keep all your calendars,contacts and bookmarks all synced up and if you add a new contact/calendar/bookmark on the move with your iPhone this will go up into the cloud (internet) and sync it straight to your other devices so everything is constantly up to date no matter what machine your on and with NO wires! Genius!

I've had a .mac account for quite a while and could never really get to grips with it. Now, obviously, that has changed to a mobileme account and the interface is just SO much better. Uploading albums, using online storage etc is totally integrated with the Apple software I use. A few minor problems syncing my Touch (hence the 4 stars) but as I received 60 days free due to the problems with Apple's initial set-up I am more than pleased.

I downloaded the free 60 day trial for MobileMe yesterday, full of great expectations that this software will make it hassle free in syncing my MacBook, iMac and iPhone all together.
In reality, once all synced, my calendar events on my iPhone didnt correspond to what was on my calendar on my MacBook, nor with the online application of MobileMe. This was one of the biggest draws of MobileMe for me. The timings of the events were completely wrong and out of place. As i initially thought it was my mistake, i attempted to fix the problem, but it continued to present the wrong data.
A similar problem presented its self with my contacts, which for a time i lost, and only got the back once i disabled MobileMe completely on my iPhone and re-synced with my MacBook.
I advise people not to buy this product, Apple rushed this application out to early, with too many problems with it. Ive been an apple convert for 18 months now, and this is the first thing ive come across that is hopeless. Whats more the comment/review/feedback apple have for its goods on its online store, seem to have been disabled for MobileMe, hence this review on Amazon.

I am an old Mac User from years back. My first computer was a Mac Se with 2 MB of RAM! Yet even I hate mobileme! It is a totally worthless product that has damaged the two systems I was trying to synchronise.
After synchronising, it repeatedly crashed one copy of Apple Mail. I had to delete the pending mobileme synchronisation and clear the caches on a root level to stop the synching (which was what was crashing Apple Mail). Are you confident doing that? On the other computer (laptop) it has ganked all of the security settings (the keychain). All in all a right pain, that luckily I had enough knowledge to rectify.
The synching of the bookmarks, addresses and calendar is useful, but is it worth sixty quid? And that in the knowledge that Apple has deliberately crocked these programs so you can't do a manual synch over a network. The real killer blow is the mail synchronisation. I wanted this product to keep my Apple Mail program updated on two computers. I have about six POP email addresses, stored locally. This software can ONLY synch an IMAP account. Well here is the news: IMAP accounts are stored on the server and so they are automatically kept synched anyway. What you are doing here is paying top dollar for an IMAP email account, which is totally free from Google!
I have to point out here that this all occurred on Leopard operating system. Tiger might be better, but even tiger won't synch the local mail folders.
If you have an iPhone then you might find this more useful, but if you have an iPhone, then you probably have more money than sense anyway!
My opinion is that this is overpriced rubbish. Definitely try the 2 month Apple trial. My trial lasted one fraught afternoon before I cancelled it.
