It's helping me pass January 6, 2005 This is a good study aid for anybody struggling to get to grips with 'The Scottish Play'. With cool multimedia chapters on word usage, characters & themes the program is easy enough for anybody to use and works on most Windows machines - even the older 95/98 platforms. I'm currently immersed in Macbeth for my GCSE English Literature and Challenge's program has really helped me. Thanks guys!
Does the job! February 19, 2004 I purchased a copy of Challenge Macbeth to help with my son's studies. He's a typical lad who avoids anything that sounds like hard work, but he absolutely loved this. The program is comprised of various sections (plot, themes, language and the like) each of which is choc full of pictures, animations and audio commentary. Furthermore it is structured in such a way that you can travel right through the program, or just pop in to a different section for revision purposes. The games are simple to play and a great way of assessing how well the user is doing. After playing around with this for a few days he was able to name the characters and give a good overview of the plot. Months of GCSE classes couldn't manage that. Excellent!
What? This software rocks! November 7, 2003 This software does everything it was intended to do. Take my word for it. The games are good and the learning is sound. Two thumbs up, I say! There are other programs out there on Macbeth that are good as well. But this one ranks high among them.
This is garbage November 2, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sorry, but I bought this thinking I could use it with my classroom. I was really hoping for an interactive program that I could use to supplement for the Macbeth readings we were doing. WRONG. The cheesy little images and clicks put my kids to sleep and the "dozens of games" were for the most part just drag and drop boredom. Some of the images are OK, but what are images without true interactivity? There is no way I could pull a grade out of this. The kids pointlessly click with little direction. Sad program and a waste of cash.
