Norton Internet Security 2006 (Student Edition) (PC)

We got an empty box with a post card in it. We simply took it into
school where my wife works and had it stamped. Then posted it to Norton. The disk arrived about 5 days later. No problem at all.

Amazon do not advise you that you will not get the software from them.... They send you a form to be completed by yourself and your university, which is fair enough at this discounted price. However despite sending the form via recorded delivery (and have proof of delivery) Symantec (Norton) say they have no record of me on their system. Nearly three weeks later I have got nowhere.... Have passed it on to Trading Standards to see what happens...

It is not mentioned on either the Amazon site or the Symantec site that the student/teacher edition of this software does not contain the software CD on purchase. You recieve the box and a form to send to Symantec Education once you have the signature of a teacher or person within the educational establishment. Upon receipt Symantec will send you the software.

Whilst it seems fair that Symantec verify your right to purchase at this price, you should be aware that for the £18 saving you are making by buying this edition, you will incur a delay of upto 21 days from Symantec recieving your completed paperwork.

The person who I recommeded this product to is eligable, but did not wish to leave her computer unprotected for this amount of time and therefore had to make a second purchase at a much higher price. I am surprised that the software is not included with a set time period in which you complete the paperwork in order to receive an activation code(by email or hardcopy).

I do however think that the software is excellent and worth it, if you can afford the delay.
