outstanding July 1, 2008 outstanding software.
It also runs on Windows Vista, which is a great bonus. It includes Wavelab Lite edition Video Editor (though very basic) 2 bonus CDs sample instruments and effects plugins to get you started
First impression: a good, cheap music programme. July 22, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Only had a couple of quick sessions mucking about with this but seems pretty good. Completley new to cubase myself. The tutorial is very good. The instrument samples you get are poor really but what do you expect for the money. I have a very poor soundcard and thought the midi input delay would drive me crazy but found that clicking options, audio setup, audio system setup and switching the ASIO device to 'ASIO Directx full duplex driver' fixed it. Importing MP3's seems to reduce the pitch and tempo but I am still learning. First impressions: a good, cheap music maker.
The best music editing software ever!! December 23, 2005 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Cubasis VST 5.0 is very easy to use when you get the hand of it even though at first you may need to get used to the language. It enables you to check all of the little details and allaws you to use an external mixer and keyboards, e.t.c. You get Master Unit, WaveLab Lite and Cubasis VST Version 5.0. You also get a label Editor but you may want to get another label editor like MediaFace 4.01 Design Wizard. This is much better and allows you to do much more...
Expected Better June 27, 2005 3 out of 11 found this review helpful
Having used Cubase at music college some years ago, this seemed like an ideal piece of software to begin putting some music together on my PC. The feature list is great, particularly considering the price, however Cubasis seems to be very temperamental, and will at times simply not do what it usually does. Features, like for example the metronome, simply do not work - nothing happens when you set it up. Whenever you record an audio track, it also records all of the rest of the arrangement onto that track. There is no way of isolating the individual tracks whatsoever. Steinberg's site appears not to support this product at all. If I'd released this in some moment of madness, I wouldn't support it either. [Please note that many pieces of software function differently on different PC's, and your experience of this product may differ from my own]
Some people dont get it. October 24, 2004 11 out of 33 found this review helpful
So you bought an Audigy, so...its a soundcard yes, but its not a production sound card so thats why your probs getting a latency of about 110m/seconds. Spend a little less money on an M-Audio Audiophile and get a lovely instant 11m/second response.Any cubase software is good. I have friends who produce music from all genre's i myself am a trance / hard house producer. But this program is easy to use, the only problem with the actual cubase edition is it doesnt come with many if any VST's this little baby kicks starts you in style.
