Unreal. It`s like going back 15 years when it was generally accepted that badly writted glitch infected sotware was the norm & we all just had to grin and bear it. I can`t quite believe that Pinnacle are still punting out rubbish like this and getting away with it. Don`t touch this or any other of their dreadful products with a barge pole.
waste of money for a piece of crap December 19, 2007 I bought this item from maplin, installed it on to my new pc running windows vista. It took a good hour to fully install it, then took about 20 minutes to install the drivers and the piece of rubbish wouldn't work, my computer crashed and it had to restart its self. I took it back the next day and got a refund and will not be using it again.
Everyone don't buy this item
Dazzle Video Creator (PC) (A Piece of Junk) December 3, 2007 What can I say, bought it from Maplins on the Sunday. Installed the huge software bundle onto my machine running XP SP2.
Fired up the software and conected to my camcorder. The software picked up the camcorder and I started to burn onto a DVD (45 mins of recording). Got three parts of the way through and froze. Tried again and it was more of the same. Connected to my 4 year old VHS and nothing, didn't recognise the VHS yet my Camcorder does recognise it.
Tried to contact support in some far flung corner of the globe but they could not understand me.
I paid 60 for this and promptly returned it on Monday to Maplins for a refund.

With no previous experience of video capture or editing, but experience in other PC use I was able to use this device and software to create a DVD from old video tapes within 24 hours of purchase. I inserted a chapter menu, titles, sound track with little difficulty. Only problems came from not using correct cables at first, and program freezing once,(but then Vista has done that with other programs on me.) however when restarted the project had been preserved as I left it. No hitches since. By the way if you are using Vista you will have download new drivers from the Web.

The hardware has no cables supplied to connect your VCR or Video camera, if you plan on using a scart to RCA type cable ensure it's capable of switching from an input to an output signal. You can buy these from the supermarket. As a complete novice to video capture and editing this software is not the easiest to use. The supplied software needs updating from the Pinnacle web site to reduce the number of errors received while creating your project. I found that after spending my money on this package, I still need to spend more on upgrading the features as not all options are available. You can only add one menu to your project and most of the effects are unavailable until you spend another 19.99 You will need a large amount of hard disc space to copy, save and burn a DVD, even with the 'Burn Direct to Disc' option because an image has to be created first. The image and auxiliary files have to be deleted manually to free up the space. I couldn't get Windows Movie Maker software included with XP SP2 to recognise the device and considered returning my purchase or buying different video editing software. After many hours of perseverance I have created a DVD with a menu, transitions and even added a sound track. I wasn't impressed with the software initially, but I've learned how to manipulate the options available to produce a profession looking DVD.
