 The worst software ever! July 6, 2007

I have been editing video for DVD for many years, starting with Studio 8, then Studio 9+. Recently I updated to Studio 10+TE. Projects that used to take 4 days now has taken 6 weeks, without resolution, and cost 15 blank DVDs in the process. This is the most unstable software I have ever used, and if it was free, it would still be overpriced. Pinnacles technical help were of no use whatsoever, saying that the next patch may solve my many problems. Buy it at your peril!
Export Failure (render error) July 1, 2007

I bought Studion 10.6 in May and quickly found out that it needed an update to 10.7 from Pinnacle's site. First attempts to create a DVD failed - Export Failure (render error) - that wasted 2 disks. I then switched to creating MPEG-2 DVD compatible files. Every time I try this with any length of sequence I get a similar problem. I've tried all the tricks of deleting auxiliary files, reinstalling, etc, but still no good. Pinnacle support have not exactly been helpful - with the only practical suggestion being the uninstall/reinstall. Also if you look on Pinnacle's forum there are lots of other users with similar problems - there must be some inherent fault with the software. My recommendation to any prospective purchaser would be to look elsewhere.
Slowness and Crashing June 25, 2007

Inititally I found the Pinnacle Studion 9 not enough and then upgraded to Studio Plus 10.5 Titanium Edition. I had to baby it along but enjoyed results until suddenly it has slowed down and now crashes consistently. I have been told by a professional PC video program trouble-shooter (at a cost) that it has a bug or bugs.
I was advised that the Pinnacle Studio Plus Version 11 would be probably be better. What guarantees have I of that?
I would also have to buy more transitions and I read a review that they are fuzzy and not very good.
I am silver surfer, a senior citizen who would love to make videos with a simple trouble free Program.
Is the Pinnacle Studio Plus Version 11 an improvement worth investing in?

Well done for bringing this version out, its brilliant. I have read some of the reviews and l think they are a bit unfair. I have a brand new Sony Laptop, which has vista installed and it runs very very smoothly, brilliant interface...I highly reccommend this....
Installation Problems May 3, 2007

I have just recently purchased this item and I have had the same problems as reviewer D. Wright. The installation reaches 2 bars in the progress bar and then just freezes the whole computer. Nothing else will work, not even Control, Alt, Delete and this is a major problem because I have to cut the power to my computer to unfreeze it. This is bad for the computer and after nearly a month the issue has not been resolved. On another website which reviewed this product, it was described as having a "highly unstable installer" which is probably the reason why it reaches 2 bars and freezes.
I would suggest looking for another editing program unless you know how to solve this.
