Norton Internet Security 2005 Student Edition

1) If you're only using your computer for word-processing or surfing the net, this software will let you do that in safety. If, however, you use memory-intensive software such as Photoshop or 3D Studio MAX (and probably some games) NIS can make them run significantly slower. It seems to take up quite a lot of processor time. I'm told that some other firewall/anti-virus software is less resource-hungry. I just disconnect my broadband and turn off NIS when I'm working.

2) When you take delivery of the student edition of NIS, do not expect to find a CD-ROM in the box. There isn't one. All you get is a paper form that you then have to send to get signed by your university before sending it to the Symantec offices in Ireland. They will then process your application and send the CD-ROM back to you. This is all fairly sensible, but I wasn't expecting it and therefore found it rather annoying.

Why do you want to buy internet security? If it is to stop spyware, trojan horses and pop-ups from poluting your pc then this program is for you. It is possibly for evil internet companies to get hold of the details you type into the internet and use them to take money, send you junk emails and letters and to generally be a nuisance. Norton Interent security 2005 stops those evil intenet comapnies from doing that. With NAIS your pc is compelty safe, pop ups are stopped and internet surfing is much faster without interuptions. I bought this and all of my stress i usually had with the interent stopped. I had no more pop ups, no more junk mail, and surfing was much faster. Buy this and you won't be dissapointed.
