    Editorial Reviews:

    Amazon.co.uk Review
For those who found 2004's Aliens vs. Predator too lightweight in the gore-and-guns department, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem offers a marked improvement in both categories, as well as a respectable amount of rumbles between the title extraterrestrials. Set in the 21st century (which predates the story to all of the Alien features), Requiem sends a crippled Predator ship crashing to Earth in a small Colorado town; unbeknownst to the locals, the craft is loaded with H.R. Giger's insectoid monsters, which make quick work of most of the population. As the human cast is slowly whittled to a few hardy (if unmemorable) souls, a Predator warrior also arrives to complicate matters and do battle with the Aliens, as well as a ferocious Alien-Predator hybrid (dubbed a Predalien by the sci-fi and horror press).

Visual-effects designers and music-video helmers The Strause Brothers (who make their feature directorial debut here) keep the action on frantic throughout, which is wise, since the dialogue and characters are threadbare at best; that should matter little to teenage male viewers, who are inarguably the film's key audience. Fans of the Alien franchise, however, may find the offhanded nod to the series' mythology given during the finale its sole saving grace. --Paul Gaita, Amazon.com

4 out of 5 stars Enjoyable tat!   November 7, 2008

Ok, I have to admit once I'd heard they were making a sequel and it was going to be more hardcore sci-fi horrorfest than previous attempt by the 'Anderson', I became very excited to relive the good old days of 'Aliens' and the very underrated 'Predator2'. And yes, the story is a little on the poo side but is adequate fare considering the other franchise films. The action is cool and the film as a whole seems a good step up from the drivel in AvP. Here's hoping the next film raises the bar on all fronts as this one does feel like a filler for the time being. Oh yes, the teenagers in it are very annoying but who cares when they get ripped to pieces....

2 out of 5 stars Oh No   October 18, 2008
Yep. I gave this a try in the sincere hope that the majority were wrong. Or maybe it was because I thought it couldn't really be that bad. Could it? Oh yes. Shot almost entirely in the lowest light possible two of the finest beings created by Hollywood have yet again been served with an utter heap of tripe. The Predator's come out best but the 'PredAlien' is ridiculous. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a good film to be made from these two franchises combining but it needs someone to do it with some care and finess. Far too often the people who made this film wanted to get to the demise of the human. There was little if no tension. That in my view was the secret of these films. You knew something was going to happen but you didn't always know when. In this film the cheesy script and letargic acting does little to encourage anyone left in the cinema to keep on watching. There were a few nice touches - I liked how the Predator picked up the helmet of a slain predator and was able to watch back what the dead Predator saw in the visor. A kind of Predator Video Recorder. But in general this film which yet again had the chance to fulfill this reviewers dreams of providing an all time Sci-Fi classic became a torrent of bilge on an awful scale. Next time....yes maybe next time....fingers crossed.

5 out of 5 stars all together   October 17, 2008

4 out of 5 stars Everyone Takes It Too Seriously!!!   September 19, 2008

AVP2 is a movie, like the games which were made for fun. They weren't made to be the next big thing or the greatest movie known to man. This movie was made to see Aliens ripping themselves and human beings to pieces... how hard is that to grasp?!?!

The acting isn't the best but i've seen alot worse in HARRY POTTER! The FX are great, lots of lasers, blood splatter, head exploding you name it this film has it. I give it alot of stars for 2 things... seeing a pregnant woman exploding to reveal baby aliens inside her (cute lil things) and for the fct they had the nerve to kill off an innocent child in the first 10minutes!

This film has been given sooo much bad reviews because it wasn't as good as ALIENS or PREDATOR but did they make the movie to be a blockbuster?!

This movie is a fun gory sci fi B movie. Nothing more, nothing less. It does exactly what it says it does.

Also another thing, people complaining about the movie being soo dark, maybe you lot are just blind because I watched this film just an hour ago and it looked fine to me.

Overall if you love seeing alien creatures beating the snot out of one another then this one is for you!!!
