Brilliant, indeed August 26, 2010 T. S. Ward (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I installed this on my desktop computer: operating system - Windows XP Home. Almost everything about this product is professional. (Ok, I don't like the silly robotic man on the splash screen.) It installs without any problems; uses very little resources; updates automatically. As regards to its ability to detect viruses etcetera, I would rate it more highly than any other virus product that I know about and have used. Scan times are much less than any of my previous antivirus products.
It also interfaces with my email client. I recently tested its ability to stop all manner of intrusions via email attachments (and other things which I won't mention in case it gives the bad guys ideas). From my memory there were about 15 different methods used to try and infiltrate my system - all of them failed thanks to this product alone.
A previous reviewer has posed the question as to why one should pay for a product when there are free alternatives. I have to admit that such a line of reasoning is more than understandable but one would need to use this product to know why one should not pay for what seems to me to be a superior product. Still, free is pretty seductive, isn't it.

I already have it but changed from XL to 7 and forgot to save it. Eset was a waste of space wouldn't help so I have paid twice for same product That will learn me to save it
So far, faultless August 16, 2010 N. Gratton (Spain) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been running this software for a couple of months now. System performance is MUCH better with this running in the background than with either AVG or Avast, and when I first installed it, it cleared out a virus which AVG had clearly not detected.
I haven't deliberately tested it with virus, but it has picked up and eliminated threats. System scans and virus definition updates both run with a minimum of resources, letting you get on with regular tasks while they're happening.
I'm very happy with this product.

Eset Nod 32 was recommended to me 5 years ago when Norton Anti Virus let me down. I purchased it on a 1 year subscription on line and was so pleased with the result that when it came up for renewal, I opted for 3 years. It's a no nonsense easy to use AV and I would recommend it to everyone. I'm not technical but I find it ticks all the boxes for me.
Got there in the end, but it's worth it! July 15, 2010 Mr. R. Ellor (Salford, United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Only four stars this time, I'm afraid. Oops...
This product may well appeal to the netbook user or those who like their security in different applications, rather than the full ESET security suite. NOD32 is an antivirus/security engine that regularly scores top marks in independent testing, and this iteration is no different. Updating itself constantly throughout the day, it is a light and effective way of getting top-notch security on your system.
So why the lost star? Well, on receipt I went to the manufacturer's website to register the product and obtain the username/password required to activate it. And there started the problems. Instead of being able to obtain said combination, I was faced with an error page from a badly configured server. Now this was potentially a major issue as it would have meant leaving a system either offline or unprotected as this was on a Saturday, and I did not expect it to be repaired until Monday at the earliest. So I was unable to use this straight out of the box, which is not good.
Anyway said server is now happily plodding away so don't let that put you off. Installation is snappy and fairly fast, and system load is more than acceptable compared to some bloated products. Both my computers now run ESET products and I'm a happy punter, who will be renewing when the time comes.
