I am hooked on this product November 21, 2008 Just started using it and not only is it great for movies I used it for my photo editing and made a brilliant DVD using the template facility. The amount of extra special effects is stunning and easy to use the multi tracking idea is simple and in truth addictive. 10/10 from me
Great value, easy to use October 16, 2008 Compared to other solutions that I have used before (Pinnacle, Ulead), Movie Edit Pro delivers much more stabilty and more functions. First, I took me some time to understand the workflows, but after that it was simply joy. For example: You have 99 tracks, other have 3 or 4. You never need 99 tracks, but you need sometimes 5 or 6 for titles, effects, some noice, music.....and you can use any track for all kind of medias, also pictures. The effects are all realtime and non destructive....
Pros: - you need 2 hours to understand the principle, after that VERY easy to use - great deep in functionality, you can build your own effects, create pro looking DVDs... - youtube upload is fun - cheap price for high quality - after all I tried BEST VALUE
Cons: - user interface is different than other video applications - some German words in translation
Summary: This product is a deal. After I tried Pinnacle and Sony Movies Studio, this is the best choice. I am totally happy with the results and the product works very stable.
Magix movie edit pro 14 plus July 18, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
My oppinion, don't buy it if your looking to edit HDV. I bought this product for my new high spec computer, with HDV editing in mind. First off, the program takes quite a while to install, but after instalation and activation I got straight on with using it. I have bought a previous version of magix editing software a while back, and hoped for great things on reading about it. First annoyance on using the product comes when you export an mpeg video. Up pops a notice telling you to connect to the magix site and activate the encoder. OK, did that, now lets get on. Next annoyance on exporting a video is another pop up telling me to activate my Dolby stereo encoder. It goes on....... Next its Mpeg4 encoder, then dolby 5.1 then...... Will I ever get to use this program without interupting my workflow!
Right, next I try out the HDV editing. First I capture from my camera and it imports into the program editing mode. Looks OK. Next I drag the file to shorten the clip. Oh dear! the sound is now all out of sync! Oh and wait a minute. Its playing the video at double speed even though I set the parameters before capture, it has changed them!
My verdict is this program is practicaly useless for HDV, and it shouldn't state it can do something when obviously it can't.
DONT BUY IT FOR HDV! ITS OK AT SD, BUT HDV EDITING IS USELESS ON IT!
As for CRAZYTALK, FANTASTIC, FUN, EASY TO USE, VERY USEFULL PRODUCT. You will have hours of fun with it. Just import any picture, Person, pet, etc, Animate it in seconds. So Easy!!!!!!!!!!!
