Worth every penny February 14, 2008 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
As a Mac newbie, I assumed there was no right-click option, but this book told me what I didn't even know about that within a few pages. In fact it's almost worth 20 quid to get my right-click working again!!
Ironically one of the strengths of the book is that it's not scared to debunk the much-trumpeted '300 new features' of Leopard, among them a Russian spellchecker and a Word of the Day screensaver.
Nicely pitched, well laid out with an easy-to-read style. It's proving indispensible for me, and I would totally recommend it to anyone new to Macs / OS X.
Great book January 18, 2008 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
As a recent convert to Mac I love it. How many times have you bought books to help you work out how to do stuff or fix things on windows and then realized that you actually need a PHD to read the dame thing??? Well with this book there comes a refreshing change. It's easy and straight forward which is also the same as using a Mac. I would have given it 5 stars except there is no real mention on the use of the iWeb program. However this is the book to have for the Mac!!! Go get it!
Excellent! January 6, 2008 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
Very good book. Covers 99% of what 99% of people need. The only mac/leopard book you'll keep refering to.
Buy It!! December 29, 2007 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
If you are new to Macs, especially new to OS X 10.5 (Leopard), you should buy this book.
893 pages of facts, hints, overviews and clear explanations of everything - from simple 'how to' right through to the more complex (if there is a complex side to OS X) side of Leopard. Prior to buying this book I bought two other Leopard books...I should have waited and just bought the Missing Manual - so should you!
