 A Convenient Piece Of Software June 25, 2008
I've never really cared about the whole virus software thing as I've never been attacked by a virus until the other day when I turned on my computer and half my files had gone. I'd turned the computer off and left it knowing I would be getting this program and hoping that it would be able to clear up my system problems, needless to say I'm not a bit disappointed. The installation is really easy, it's simply just put the disc in and click a few buttons, you even get to decide whether to download updates before installing the actual software. After selecting the first set of options it's simply just leave it be, they will scan your computer, copy the files and set up the protection. You're given the option to register at Norton which will help store your product key just in case you lose it. While scanning Norton managed to track down my virus and get rid of it, it's now active and running smoothly, it runs in the background constantly protecting your computer which is the brilliance of this software.

This is definitely the best anti virus i have chosen so far, i found it alot more effective than the AVG which i found later on to slow your computer down, i have yet to encounter any problems.
The installation was fast and easy, and being Norton you know that it is quality, and also you can use on 3 PCs so that is really useful. It's working silently as i use my computer so i kow it's dong its job, it also cleans your computer up fixing problems that slow your computer down and removing anooying tempory internet files that fill your computer up! And best of all protects the files that you love and need!
Highly recommended suitable for all, it's easy and fast and you know it's a quality product.
 Ageing computer battered by Norton! June 23, 2008
Now I know I should invest in a new system, but I'm tight.
I have a dark ages pentium 4, which runs everything fine, but previously fell over when I had Norton Personal Firewall on it. Now 360 seems to have taken over where firewall left off. With 360 running and one IE window open, the system is 'low on virtual memory' - it is taking forever to start the computer up and longer to actually get anything open. I'm going to try to clear out anything spare which might unecessarily be running (I've already killed off SpyBot as the two of them weren't getting on) but I fear for how long this is going to take at the current processing speed.
I'm sure, given the blurb, that this is going to be a great package for those of you with new systems, but for me it is a disaster; which shouldn't really be a surprise except that it claims it will 'improve the performance of my PC'.
Ultimate protection and automation of your PC hygiene June 21, 2008
From inserting the disc the first time, and seeing the familiar Symantec menu to running your first scan is incredibly easy, and very fast indeed. A broadband connection is preferable as it does need a huge download to programme the current threats and to update its definitions on a regular basis. The latest in a long line of excellent security products from Symantec, this edition, also known as 360 seems to have significantly less impact on the speed of my machine than previous products I have tried, and works perfectly with Vista on a high spec machine. I have not gone into all the depths of options for personal configuration choosing to allow the defaults all along but it is so customisable it will suit everyone from the computer experts who like to control everything themselves through to simple enough to satisfy people like me who likes to plug and play.
It, in addition to keeping you, your emails, browsing and your transactions etc safe online also keeps your PC fully tuned up by running regular PC hygiene checks... ie: running disc cleanup, removing web history, cached files and disc fragmentation.
After using this I would never use any other product... extremely highly recommended, and another Symantec winner!

Having just re-newed my subscription i have to say how impressed i am with this product, i am using the windows VISTA O/S and have nothing but praise, love the way it works in the background effortlessly, had no problems whatsoever, Norton 360 is the 3rd A/V ive tried and certainly for me THE BEST...!
