Microsoft for the iMac February 17, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The all white/translucent keyboard for the iMac is certainly a design icon, but it does not marry well with the average pipe-smoker and is expensive to replace when eventually it clogs up. My fault not Apple's.The keyboard comes with a CD-ROM containing the software which will be added to your System. But there is a problem, once loaded you will find that the Eject Button disappears! Ooops! A quick call to Microsoft support will solve the problem. It is a simple matter of reprogramming another key to operate as Eject - I use the Messenger button as (a) it is more or less in the same location and (b) I don't use Messenger! Clearly the key-caps are set for Windows, but you soon get used to the differences. All in all I prefer it to the standard Apple offering as it is easily programmable to suit your work regime. I've had it for months now and it seems very sturdy given that I am a two finger bang-the-keys typist. It would also recommend getting a Microsoft Mouse to complete the set.
good solid keyboard December 17, 2005 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
bought this to go with my new monitor and it looks great. its a nice silver and black number that looks stylish. all the buttons are there, in easy to reach positions. the programmable 5 across the top are useful and allow you to set them to do whatever you want which gives some freedom to it. all buttons have nice feel when pressed in and the secondary funtions to the F-keys are handy too. great selection of keys, not much else i could have asked for. no probs yet. only thing i would say is that the zoom slider is more of a gimic than anything. it works, but never really gets used.
GOOD APART FROM THE SPACEBAR GLITCH September 12, 2005 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Nice keyboard, with a nice feel, but it periodically types spaces non-stop of its own accord (on Mac OS10.2) which is a bind, and interferes with other applications.
Excellent purchase August 17, 2005 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Purchased one of these a week ago as a replacement for an existing keyboard. Really pleased with it - good quality and value for money. Unlike some other Microsoft offerings that can cost well over 50, this provides all the features you'll need for a really good price.I didn't think I'd use the extras but I find I use nearly all of them! One important issue is that it remembers the Function button status. Some of the newer keyboards don't and it becomes really frustrating.
Excellent keyboard July 26, 2005 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Let's face it, a keyboard is a keyboard is a keyboard. The great thing about this one, is the quality of the feel as you type, and the additional short-cut buttons at the top.
